Protecting the Heart of Our Communities: Why We Must Stand Up for Pubs, Brewers, and Hospitality

The reality facing our industry is stark. Over 20 pubs are closing every week across the UK—these are not forgotten or failing businesses, but places that are still loved, still busy, and still at the centre of our communities. They’re being crushed by rising costs and razor-thin margins.
This isn’t just about lost businesses. Every closure means lost jobs, lost community spaces, and a blow to the very soul of our towns and villages. For brewers, cider makers, and everyone working in hospitality, the threat is existential. Without real government support—fairer VAT, better policies, and urgent action on spiralling costs—more closures are inevitable.
But we’re not powerless. Our voices matter, and so does yours.
Here’s how you and your followers can help:
• Sign the petition: https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/721825
• Spread the word: Share the petition link on your social channels, talk about it in your stories, and encourage your followers and friends to get involved. Even a quick mention can make a real difference.
• Call for action: Ask your networks to demand fair treatment for pubs, breweries, and cider makers—lower VAT, real support, and a future for our industry.
Every signature, every share, every conversation counts. If we don’t act together, we risk losing the heart of our communities—and a vital part of British culture.
Let’s stand up for our industry and make some noise while we still can.
Thank you so much for your support and solidarity.
