FAQs

WHAT IS CASK ALE?
Cask ale (or 'cask-conditioned' or 'real ale') continues to ferment naturally in the cask for a light 'condition'. All of our beers are best served cool at cellar temperature of between 11c - 13c, but not too cold and is less carbonated.

ARE YOUR BEERS AND CIDERS SUITABLE FOR VEGANS?
Absolutely! All of our beers are 100% vegan-friendly and made with natural ingredients. We’re dedicated to using only super natural, vegan-friendly processes—so you can enjoy every Wookey Brewing Co. beer with confidence. Our cider is also crafted to the same high standards, ensuring it’s suitable for vegans too.

WHERE DO I FIND INFO ON ALLERGENS?
All of our beers contain gluten and on the rear of the label on our canned craft beers, all contain gluten/barley unless stated.

WHY DO WE BOTTLE OUR CIDER INSTEAD OF CANNING IT?
Many cider lovers prefer bottled cider for its traditional feel and experience. Bottles help preserve the fresh, crisp taste and natural carbonation of our Somerset cider, giving you that classic pour and authentic enjoyment. While cans are great for beer, we believe bottling brings out the best in our cider—just the way our customers like it.

WHY DO WE CAN OUR BEER INSTEAD OF BOTTLING IT?
Great question! We are extremely committed to reducing our carbon foot print and by us using cans it uses 90% less energy to recycle than bottles. Bottles are also heavier to transport in shipping and will cause more carbon emissions which will have a detrimental effect on our environment.

DOES THE BEER TASTE TINNY OR METALLIC IN CANS?
Not our beer! This is a misunderstood myth, all beer cans are lined with a coating that protects the beer. Instead, that metallic taste is likely caused by problems in the brewing process, such as issues with water chemistry and ingredient storage.
